Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous facilities staff member to support the evening cleaning of our Lowell buildings. The facilities staff member will be responsible for ensuring that our facilities remain clean, sanitized, and presentable for employees, clients, and visitors. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently . The facilities staff member will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and organized environment, contributing to the overall satisfaction and well-being for our young adults and staff. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming all offices and common areas
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors
  • Empty and clean trash receptacles and replace liners
  • Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, and handrails
  • Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap
  • Notify management of any damages, repairs needed, or supply shortages
  • Follow established safety procedures and guidelines while performing cleaning tasks
  • Adhere to company policies and regulations regarding cleanliness and hygiene standards
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with young adults, employees, and visitors
  • Keeps a building in clean and orderly conditions by performing a combination of activities including cleaning assigned areas
  • Support other facility team member with other duties as needed


Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
  • Have a strong work ethic with reliability and dependability
  • Ability and desire to jump in and assist with other community projects
  • Enjoy working with others and taking direction when needed
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Professional attitude and demeanor


Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years as a cleaner or facilities workers


Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to perform outdoor work for prolonged periods of time during inclement weather conditions
  • Frequent climbing, bending, stooping, and reaching
  • Occasional work in restricted spaces
  • Frequent carrying/transporting heavy loads up to 50 lb.
 

Salary/Benefits: This is a full time position with a pay rate of $20-$22 per hour, plus benefits. UTEC offers a competitive benefits package that starts with 4 weeks of vacation (3 standard for all new employees and a week of agency-wide wellness closure between the Christmas and New Year holidays), 12 holidays, 10 sick days, 2 personal days, and health, dental and vision insurance.
